Chief Chibuzo Nduwueze Ziggy Azike, born on September 19, 1959 has passed on to glory.
A prominent legal practitioner and head of CHIBUZO N. ZIGGY AZIKE & CO till his demise, Chief Azike is said to have died of complications of prostate cancer on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
A politician of note, he contested the Senate seat of Imo North District (Okigwe zone) and the governorship position of Imo State at different times.
He played leading roles in the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA and was a member of such other bodies as the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Maritime Lawyers Association.
A community leader who was conferred several chieftaincy titles across the country, Chief Azike also served God in different capacities and was admitted into the Order of Knighthood of Saint Christopher (KSC) in 1995.
He also played various roles at the national level as member of a Presidential Panel, a Steering Committee and a Commission of Inquiry. He was a delegate to the National Political Reform Conference, Abuja in 2005 as one of the representatives of Imo State and served as the Secretary to the South-East caucus. He was also Secretary to the Igbo Elders Forum.
Loved by many who came across him, the ebullient Chief Ziggy Azike is being mourned across the world.
