Special birthday celebration for Hon. Mildred C. Crump, Newark City Council President


Council President of Newark City, New Jersey, United States of America, US, Honorable Mildred C. Crump (Mama Africa) will be specially celebrated on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
An elaborate birthday celebration is being put together for the iconic leader for that date at Best Western Plus Robert Treat Hotel, 50 Park Place, Newark, New Jersey 07102 and the Who-is-Who in the City are expected to grace the historic occasion.
The event will run from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
A woman of many firsts, Honorable Crump, a Democrat, born 6 November 1939, became the first African-American woman to be elected to the Municipal Council when she was first elected in 1994.
She likewise became the first woman to be named Council President in 2006 when she first got into the coveted position.
A graduate of Wayne State University, Honorable Crump, who was once upon a time a braille teacher, has used her positions in life to positively impact the lives of many in Newark City and far beyond, including in Africa where her philanthropic spirit has put smiles on the faces of many, including the blind ( she adopted and has been a major financier of a School for the Blind in Lagos, Nigeria).
The much loved community activist would be on the center stage on Wednesday, to soak in different expressions of gratitude from appreciative friends, associates and well-wishers
