The Consulate General of Nigeria, New York, United States of America (USA) is organizing a very crucial Town Hall Meeting with the Nigerian Community within the New York Jurisdiction today, Friday, August 18, 2023.
According to a notice by the Consulate General, the meeting, which is open to all Nigerians will start at 6PM prompt.
The third of the popular quarterly Town Hall Meetings for the year and the 10th in the series, Friday’s encounter, which is scheduled to be Virtual, will discuss very important developments, especially concerning passports and other travel documents as well as the other Consular Services rendered by the Consulate General.
The Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Lot Egopija, who will preside over the meeting will, with other senior officials of the Consulate, answer the questions of nationals during the Question & Answer segment of the meeting, after briefing the House on the latest developments, especially concerning how to fast track processing and collection of passports, for those intending to travel for the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Participants, including leaders and members of Nigerians in Diaspora associations across the states covered by the New York jurisdiction, church leaders and their members, and nationals representing many other socio-cultural groups are expected to be in attendance, especially given the very important nature of the upcoming Meeting.
Participants are encouraged to have their questions and contributions ready as officials of the Consulate General have assured that the Meeting will be frank, interactive and uncensored.
Past Town Hall Meetings by the Consulate General have been very fruitful, and it is expected that Friday’s Meeting will be more so as our source confirmed that the meeting is targeted at ensuring that no Nigerian has any issues with travel papers during the yuletide and beyond.
