CORBON flags off M&E Exercise For Sokoto Batch C N-Power

The chairman, Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), Mr. Samson Ameh Opaluwah, Wednesday, flagged off the monitoring and evaluation component of N-Power Batch C1 trainees in Sokoto.

Addressing the trainees, Opaluwah said the Batch C1 consists of the contraction/trade aspect of the N-Power as conceived by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Noting that they have testimonies that the programme as initiated by the federal government has positively changed may lives, Opaluwah pointed out that the programme was a well thought out initiative with the vision of assisting youths to acquire skills capable of making them self-reliant, as having skilled youths is pivotal to national development.

“The large turnout of trainees we have seen here today is a testament that the N-Power has help unemployed youths to aquire skills capable of making them self-reliant.

“And this goes to explain that the programme has changed the lives of many unemployed youths. It also goes to show that we are ready to take over the construction industry of our country if we diligently follow this programme.”

While noting that the era of neglecting Nigerian artisans has come and gone, the CORBON chairman said the essence of flagging off the monitoring and evaluation exercise was to help curb cases of incessant building collapse in Nigeria.

“You are agents of turning around Nigeria for good, as building collapse is not good news for Nigeria.

“We want to assist the economy and our nation by ensuring that we evaluate and monitor building projects to see that they comply with agreed specifications so as not to put lives in danger,” he stressed.
