COVID-19: 8 Corps members test positive in Bauchi.

Eight National Youth Service Corps, NYSC members in Bauchi state have tested positive to the Coronavirus, COVID-19, in the Wailo Camp of Ganjuwa local government area of the state.

The Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed revealed this in a press release which was made available to our reporter and signed by the information officer, Ibrahim Sani, saying that out of 600 corps members who reported to camp, eight tested positive to the virus in the camp.

“I have instructed the Surveillance team to carry out samples collection and investigation of corps members undergoing training in the camp and a holding room has since been allocated by the Director of NYSC for those that are with suspected/positive cases”, he said .

On the spread of Yellow fever at the NYSC camp, the BAPHCDA boss disclosed that he has ordered the mass vaccination of the entire camp to safeguard the health of corps members who are posted to serve in the state.

He added that more than 800 persons were vaccinated for Yellow fever in Ganjuwa to halt the spread of the fever in the local government area where the NYSC camp is located in the state.
