Cult reprisal attack claims two Ambrose Alli University undergraduates’ lives

Tragedy struck Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State as two undergraduates fell victim to a cult reprisal attack, with one of the deceased identified as an official of the Students’ Union Government (SUG).
The incident, which occurred at the Poultry Road Extension in Ekpoma, claimed the lives of the two students, including the SUG official, who was a 400-level student in the Faculty of Agriculture.
The reprisal attack unfolded just 48 hours after another student, known as Eddy, was fatally assaulted by a group allegedly mistaking him for involvement in fraudulent activities.
Misinterpretation of Eddy’s situation as a targeted assault by rival cult factions fueled tensions, culminating in the fatal shooting of the two undergraduates.
Confirming the incident, Edo Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Chidi Nwabuzor, revealed that arrests had been made in connection with the killings, with investigations underway to ascertain the full extent of the situation.
