Over 300 APC members decamp to PDP; say ‘party is deceitful’

Over 300 aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state have decamped to the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP), describing their former party as ‘a party of deceits.’

The defectors who are mainly youths and women from the Ward 11, Gbarain Ekpetama and Epie Atassia said ‘the party is full of empty promises.’

Speaking during the occasion to officially receive the defecting members, Chairman of the APC in Ward 11, Comrade Exodus Ebi said the leadership of APC fooled the youths and abandoned them without any benefits.

The aggrieved decampees were officially received at the Governor Seriake Dickson 2016 campaign office by the state chief executive,with Director General, United Niger Delta People for Dickson, Comrade Abrakumo Otogbo, Acting Chairman, PDP Chief Serena Dokubo Spiff and other top government functionaries in attendance.

Ebi stated that the decampees decided to join PDP because they were in pains and faced with sufferings

“We can’t be fooled by anybody any longer, we have re -discovered that PDP is the real boat to sail us to the promise land, PDP will sail Bayelsans to safety and freedom.”

Accompanied by the APC youth leader, Douyemiegha Pereowei and Chairman Non Indigenes in the Epie/Attasia, Kalala, Ebi said APC members in his ward had worked tirelessly for the party without any political benefits.

Ebi said the Governor Dickson-led PDP is the right party to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people and urged the electorate to vote Dickson in the forthcoming governorship election.

Receiving the defectors to PDP Governor Seriake Dickson said APC is a death party that has collapses in the state.

Dickson who officially presented the party flag and umbrella to the returnees said PDP is ‘open to all good Bayelsans’ and lauded the decampees for their wise decision.

He urged the decampees to ensure that their units, wards and localities were delivered in the forthcoming governorship elections come Dec ember 5.
