Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has expressed appreciation for the support and the peaceful way the Rasulul A’Azam Foundation has been operating in the State.
The Governor made the commendation during the 2017 Maulud of Imam Mahdi, organIzed by Rasulul A’Azam Foundation (RAAF), a Shiite group, which was held in Gombe.
The Governor who was represented his Commissioner for Youths, Alhaji Farouk Yarma, also called on Muslims and Christians in the country to embrace the spirit of peace and mutual co-existence for the development of the country.
He called on the group and the entire people of the state to continue supporting government activities towards ensuring peaceful coexistence and development of the state and the country at large.
He advised the leadership of the group to be patient in the course of discharging their responsibilities and urged them to support government toward good upbringing of the youth to be good leaders in the state.
In his remark, Sheik Nur Dass, National Chairman of the foundation, emphasized the need for peaceful co-existence in the country irrespective of any differences, saying difference in religions should not make one group to hate one another.
Sheik Bashir Lawal, Chairman of Da’awa Committee of the foundation, explained that the aim of the Maulud was to educate the public on the coming of ‘Imam Mahdi’s divine messiah to lead mankind as one community at the end of this world.
Other activities during the programme were the donation of blood at the Blood Bank of the Specialist Hospital Gombe by members of the Foundation aimed at saving lives.
