Dominican University Ibadan, Nigeria hails Peter Obi at 63

The Dominican University Ibadan, Nigeria has extended warmest wishes of good health, happiness, and continued success in all endeavours, to Mr. Peter Obi, the Pro-Chancellor of the institution, on his 63rd birthday, today, July 19, 2024.
In a birthday message to Mr. Obi on behalf of the University, Professor Jacinta A. Opara, the institution’s Vice Chancellor said that “this special day provides us with an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the remarkable contributions you have made to our institution and the broader community.”
She said that Mr. Obi’s tenure as Pro-Chancellor “is marked by visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and a deep commitment to academic excellence,” stressing that the former Anambra State governor’s “efforts in fostering an environment of intellectual rigor, innovation, and inclusivity has left an indelible mark on our university.”
The Vice Chancellor said they are grateful for the “unwavering support and the transformative impact” that Mr. Obi’s tenure is “having on the lives of countless students, faculty, and staff,” noting that beyond his role at Dominican University, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election’s “exemplary service and leadership in various capacities have been a source of inspiration to many.
“Your commitment to integrity, social justice, and community development continues to set a high standard for us all. Your legacy as a leader and a statesman is one that we hold in the highest regard,” the message noted, while reminding Obi that as he celebrates his 63rd birthday, he should please know that he is “fondly remembered and deeply appreciated by the entire Dominican University community.”
They also prayed that this year should bring the political leader “joy, fulfilment, and many more reasons to celebrate.”
