Drama in Sokoto as Bafarawa petitions EFCC against Wamakko

There was drama in Sokoto Thursday as former governor of Sokoto state, Attahiru Bafarawa petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against his successor Senator Aliyu Wamakko involving over N13 billion.

Submitting the petition to the Head of the Sokoto new Zonal office of the Commission, Ahmed Lateef Thursday in S okoto, Bafarawa urged the EFCC to investigate and ascertain the whereabout of the said amount he allegdedly left behind while eaving office.
The  state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma and other members of the party accompanied  Bafarawa to the EFCC new office in Sokoto.
Bafarawa further told the EFCC to make his successor, Aliyu Wamakko account for the alleged said amount.
Receiving the petition, Mr Lateef  commended Bafarawa for bringing the petition. Lateef said although  the Sokoto zonal office was just being established and yet to be furnished,  Bafarawa’s petition was the first and numbered it 001.
The EFCC Sokoto zonal Head assured ex-governor Bafarawa that  thorough investigation would be carried out by the Commission.
