AGENE GODWIN, Benin
The Eriyo family of Benin in Edo State has described the charges slammed on Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo AKA No Molest as trumped-up.
Speaking through the family lawyer, Barrister Ebosele Okhifoh, the family described the charges against Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo as a breach of the trust he has for Edo State APC.
Barrister Okhifoh said Osakpamwan Eriyo is innocent of the charges of attempted murder and threat to life now slammed on him.
He disclosed that his client never threatened Chief Osaro Idah who is the APC State Secretary as being alleged.
He wondered why the police will charge his client to court without proper investigation but only acted on a directive from a ‘higher authority’ in Edo State.
Barrister Ebosele Okhifoh stated that, his client was in his pool of blood in the police custody following an injury he sustained when the police were forcing him to sign the trumped-up charges before his arraignment in court.
The legal luminary disclosed that, his client was detained with 37 other APC members in Oredo local government and wondered why Osakpamwan Eriyo and Sunday Osaguana will now be charged to court for an offence they never committed.
Barrister Ebosele alerted the world that, the life of Osakpamwan Eriyo is in danger in prison custody due to his failing health.
The Oredo APC youth leader, Mr. Frank Oqundezi said he was among those detained by the police over the trumped-up charges, but that he was released after 4 days in police detention.
Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo is the Edo State APC Youth Leader while Mr. Sunday Osaguana both of who are in prison custody is a ward chairman of APC in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
