Police nab mother for selling own 3-month old baby for N.3m

Police command in Akenfa area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State has reportedly arrested a 28 year-old nursing mother for allegedly selling her three month-old baby girl for three hundred thousand naira.
A statement by the police said a team of detectives from the Akenfa Police Station nabbed the mother, Oyikepreye Enoch for allegedly selling her three month-old baby girl.
The command said the suspect sold her child to one Esther Tony, a 30 year-old woman for the sum of three hundred thousand naira.
Spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, DSP Asinim Butswat, in a statement, Wednesday, said both suspects are undergoing interrogation at the Akenfa police station, Yenagoa.
Meanwhile, police authorities in the state are yet to locate the whereabouts of the kidnapped engineer, Dunkan Eke, who was abducted by unknown gunmen in Igede Community in Kolukuma / Opkuma Local Government Area of the state.
This is as another victim, a Reverend Father is lying critically ill in his hospital bed in a yet to be disclosed hospital following gunshot wounds he received from his abductors before he escaped.
The Reverend Father simply identified as Ezekiel Obate was among the victims attacked by the armed men who subsequently abducted the engineer.
Police said the engineer was abducted January 24, at about 12:40hrs.
