Fayose committed treason for claiming Buhari was on life support – Faparusi

Hon. Faparusi

As picture confirming the visit of  some governors and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Chief Odigie Oyegun to President Muhammadu Buhari in London went virile some days back, a

call has gone to the Department of State Services(DSSS) to investigate the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose for alleged treason.
Making the call, a chieftain of APC in Ekiti and governorship aspirant, Hon Bamidele Faparusi, said the allegation by Fayose that he had it on good authority that President Buhari was on life support in a London hospital constituted treasonable felony against the country.
Fayose had at a press conference a  couple of weeks ago made a startling revelation that available information at his disposal confirmed that President Buhari, who left the shores of the country for medical vacation in London on May 7, had relapsed into a state of coma, which he said necessitated him being put on life support.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, Faparusi said  the picture showing the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and  three of his colleagues in a feast with President Buhari  had dispelled the rumour  that he was on the verge of death.
Faparusi said the need for Fayose’s investigation became imperative to extract information about where he got the devilish information for the country to ascertain those plotting evil against the federal government.
He said Fayose’s vituperation against President Buhari and his boast that he will take over the presidency in 2019 was suspect  and warned that the DSS shouldn’t take such a scurrilous and incendiary comment lightly to protect the presidency from being debased by power mongers.
.
Faparusi said: “Governor Fayose must tell the  country what informed his interest to  persistently dig up unsubstantiated  information about President Buhari’s health if not  for the fact that he was one of those plotting
to stage a coup against the country.
“The presidency is the symbol of our dear nation and it needs to be shielded against debasement by  desperados who can do anything to grab power.
“Recently, the Chief of  Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai raised an alarm that some men of the Nigeria army were plotting to stage a coup  at a time the President was out of the country. This forms the basis for Governor Fayose to be called to question.
“I quite appreciate the fact that the Governor enjoys immunity under Section 308 of the 1999 constitution, but the constitution didn’t say he can’t be investigated. The EFCC had investigated him over alleged involvement in N2.999b Arms scandal.
“The APC has it on good authority that the PDP was planning evil to truncate democracy under Buhari and disunite in the country  and Governor Fayose as the arrowhead  has been intensifying efforts in this sinister scheme to the see that the president is dead.
“What marveled us was that  he made the startling allegation quoting date  and the location of  Mr President in London. This calls  for concern and should not be taken  lightly.
“To add more to the confusion and insult, Fayose derisively claimed that the wife of the president, Hajia Aisha  was not allowed to see the president and quoted three individuals that were allowed  to see the president  at different times. What insult could be more than
this.
“As foolish and stupid as his claims might be, they show that those desperately scheming to kill Buhari have paid informants in the presidency. The  DSS must step up its  game to protect the President and expose members of this  deadly  cabal”, he said.
Faparusi advised Fayose  to stop dissipating energy on frivolities and devote  more time  to addressing the plethora  of problems facing Ekiti people .
“Today , Ekiti is nearing being called a failed State. Nine  months’ workers’ salaries have not been  paid , the health system has collapsed  and the road infrastructure is in a deplorable state,” he
stressed.
