Fire burns three children of same parents to death in Bayelsa

The Police in Bayelsa state has confirmed the death of three children who were roasted in a fire outbreak at Elebele community, Ogbia in the home of Mrs Favour Udoh.

The inferno which was caused by a candle light also destroyed valuables including cloths and electronics.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Asininm Butswat, in a statement said the incident occurred on Thursday at about 11pm.

He said the Command received a distress call from the Kolo Division on the fire outbreak at the residence of Mrs Udoh which killed the three children.

He gave the identities of the deceased children as: Daniel Udoh, male, Saviour Udoh, male and Joshua Udoh.

The statement said preliminary investigations revealed the fire was caused by a candle-light.

Butswat said the corpses were deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Mortuary, Yenagoa, for autopsy while the investigations continue.
