

The game on Wednesday August 9, was decided at the Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion and saw Leicester City boss Maresca naming both Nigerian players in the starting XI.
It paid off as they scored a goal apiece to send the Foxes into the next round of the Caraboa Cup.
Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring just six minutes into the game with a cheeky back heel finish to open his season’s account for the English Championship side .
Two minutes into first half stoppage time, both players combined to double Leicester City’s lead. Defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi ventured into the opposition’s penalty area to shoot into the top corner from Iheanacho’s cutback.
There were no goals in the second half and so it finished 0-2 in favour of Leicester City, thanks to their Nigerian players who have remained at the King power despite speculations linking them with separate moves away this summer.
Leicester have now started their season with back to back wins after also securing a 2-1 win in their first game in the Championship against Coventry last weekend.
Leicester City occupy seventh spot on the English Championship standing and face Huddersfield Town on Saturday August 12, in week two.
Meanwhile it was a sad outing on Tuesday for the other Nigerian players in Caraboa action, Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu were subbed on in Southampton’s 3-1 loss at Gillingham while Semi Ajayi was benched as West Brom lost 2-1 to Stoke City.
