
Imo State Police Command has announced the resumption of duties of a new Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, SP Bala Elkana who takes over from SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando who has been redeployed to the Ondo State Police Command.
A statement by SP Orlando, the outgoing PPRO for the State’s Commissioner of Police, said that SP Elkana was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 2003. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB), Masters degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (MSC), Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) among other academic qualifications.
He attended several courses among which are Leadership Training, Detective Course, Community Policing, Trainee Course, Combat Operation Course, Emergency Management Course and Police Relations Course. He is a member of the National Institute of Public Relations and also a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police, as well as a Fellow and ICON of Corporate Institute of Administration.
He has served the force in different capacities notably: – Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Niger, Akwa Ibom and Lagos State Police Commands. He has also received many awards among which are: Best PRO in Nigeria 2020, Best PRO in Africa and Best PRO in Central and West Africa by Security Watch Africa.
SP Ikeokwu thanked all for the supported extended to him during his tour of duty and urged that same support extended to his successors.
