Lazio have officially secured the services of midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru on loan from Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor.
The 23-year-old Nigerian has joined the Italian capital club on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
The loan agreement includes an obligation for Lazio to make the move permanent if certain sporting conditions are met. Reports indicate that Lazio has paid a loan fee of approximately €2 million, with an additional €4 million required to finalize the transfer.
Dele-Bashiru signed with Hatayspor as a free agent last season and is under contract in Turkey until 2026. However, he will be approaching the final year of his deal by the end of the 2024-25 season. Italian reports suggested a €7 million release clause in his Hatayspor contract, but Lazio successfully negotiated a lower price.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru began his football journey in England, progressing through Manchester City’s youth academy before moving to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in 2020. His performances caught the attention of Hatayspor, where he continued to develop and attract interest from top European clubs.
Dele-Bashiru arrived in Rome on Thursday, July 4, 2024 completing all necessary medical examinations and contract signings. Lazio officially welcomed him on their social media platforms on Saturday, July 6, 2024, expressing excitement about the new addition to their squad.
Lazio’s Statement

The signing of Dele-Bashiru is expected to bolster Lazio’s midfield options as they prepare for the new season, aiming to compete at the highest levels in both domestic and European competitions.
