Kano Governorship: Kannywood demands justice for Kano citizens

Some members of the Kannywood movie industry on Saturday in Kano called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure that justice prevailed in the upcoming Kano State governorship election petition at the Supreme Court.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Alhaji Sani Danja, a renown Kannywood Actor, made the appeal at a news conference in Kano.

Danja said the industry, as Nigerians who are patriotic, are calling on Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency, ensure justice and fairness prevailed in the Kano governorship election petition appeal at the Supreme Court, whose judgment is expected soon.

“A lot of patriotic citizens and even past leaders have commented at different occasions on the Appeal Court judgment of Kano gubernatorial election, hence we hope our President as a father will consider the mandate of Kano citizens and ensure justice,” he urged.

Danja noted that Kano state has been peaceful all along but for the Appeal Court judgment, stressing that the judiciary should not be allowed to destroy the peaceful coexistence being enjoyed in the state.

“We are pleading with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and all stakeholders not to allow sentiments and partisan politics to interfere into the affairs of the judicial system of the country,” the Kannywood spokesman said.
