Major General (Rtd.) Christopher Adewole Thomas Jemitola for burial in Abuja on Thursday, February 20, 2025
Major General (Rtd.) Christopher Adewole Thomas Jemitola, CON, who passed on to glory on February 6, 2025, will be laid to rest on February 20, 2025 at the National Cemetery, Airport Road, Abuja, Nigeria.
Popularly known as “Christo” among family and close friends, Maj. General Jemitola, born on December 25, 1961, was a distinguished Officer and gentleman, an excellent Diplomat, a loving husband, dutiful son and doting father, as well as a cherished brother, uncle, colleague, friend and confidant.
A notice by the family announced the details of the funeral arrangements. Another notice by Commodore MB Teidi (Rtd.) for members of the 29th Regular Course of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), which also announced “With Deep Sorrow” the passing of their beloved colleague, coursemate, and brother, also noted that there will be a Service of Songs in his honour on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Four Square Gospel Church of God, Asokoro, Abuja at 5PM.
On Thursday, February 20, 2025, there will be Lying in State at 8.30 AM and a Funeral Service at 10AM, both at Four Square Gospel Church of God, Asokoro, Abuja before interment at the National Cemetery, Abuja.
Edo State born Major General Jemitola, who was Aide-de-Camp (ADC) from 2003 to 2007 to then President Olusegun Obasanjo, also served as Director of Defence Information and later as Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.
He is being mourned by many across the world who he impacted positively.
