The Nigeria international joined the Citizens to honour the Argentine defender who will depart the Etihad at the end of the season

Kelechi Iheanacho has hailed Argentina’s Pablo Zabaleta  as he departs  Manchester City at the end of the season.

The club announced that the 32-year-old defender won’t be renewing his contract when it expires in July, bringing an end to his nine years stay in the City of Manchester.

Iheanacho who was unselected for Zabaleta’s last home game as the Citizens cruised to a 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, appreciated the Argentina international for his impact.

Zabaleta played a total of 230 games for the Citizens since his arrival from Espanyol in 2008.

“Thank you #OURZAB God bless you #pablozabaleta you will always remain a city #Legend,” Iheanacho wrote on Instagram.
