Immediate past President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has commiserated with the government and people of Edo state over the demise of the two time governor of the defunct Midwest and later Bendel State, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia .

Senator Mark noted that Ogbemudia was a patriotic and detribalized NIGERIAN who was among senior military officers that stood to be counted in the fight to keep the nation indivisible .
He noted the landmark legacies of Ogbemudia to include but not limited to the establishment of the University of Benin, Ogbemudia stadium as well as Bendel textile mill among others.
Senator Mark therefore enjoined the governments of Edo and Delta states to immortalize Ogbemudia in recognition of his contributions to national development .
Ogbemudia , he noted, will be remembered for his political sagacity, bravery, wisdom and as a very successful manager of men and resources..
