Actor and comedian Tommy Ford has died.

Thomas Mikal “Tommy” Ford was an American actor who was best known for his role as Tommy Strawn in the sitcom Martin, and for his recurring role as Mel Parker in the UPN sitcom The Parkers.
He passed away on Wednesday after being on life support at an Atlanta hospital since Sunday due to a ruptured aneurysm in his abdomen.

6′ 4″, Ford was born on September 5, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, United States, was married to Gina Sasso and attended the University of Southern California.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykal Ford,” his family said in a statement.

“On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief,” the statement said.
