Meet completion timelines, Bayelsa Project Monitoring Directorate urges contractors

Mr. Ebiye Tarabina, Chairman, Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, has urged contractors handling ongoing government projects to intensify their efforts to meet completion deadlines.

Tarabina, an engineer, made the call on Friday while inspecting some ongoing infrastructure projects in the state.

While inspecting the Igbogene-Tombia road project, the chairman commended the contractor handling the project for the pace and quality of work so far achieved.

He equally expressed delight with the level of work done on the Yenagoa-Oporoma road project, but advised the contractor to increase the pace for the timely completion of the project.

Tarabina said the Gov. Douye Diri led administration was fully committed to the completion of all ongoing projects in the state, urging Bayelsa people to continue their support of the government which is committed to the common good of the people of the state.

He said construction work on the projects are advancing at a commendable speed because of the commitment of the government to provide critical infrastructure for the good people of the state.

He assured that the specifications and scope of the projects will not be compromised as the directorate will spare no effort in ensuring that contractors execute their jobs in line with contractual agreements.

Henry Zhang, Site Manager , CCECC, the company handling the Yenagoa-Oporoma road project appreciated the government for the support it is giving to the project , adding that with the determination of the present administration, the project will be completed on record time.

Other ongoing projects inspected by the Directorate’s team comprising construction experts and support staff include the Igbedi Road, AIT- Igbogene road and the Elebele Bridge.
