Messi scores in fifth straight Inter game

Lionel Messi scored in his fifth straight game for new club Inter Miami in a convincing 4-0 Leagues Cup win over Charlotte.

Messi scored the fourth goal of the quarter-final match for Inter Miami whose thumping win over Charlotte mean they are in the semi-finals of the Leagues Cup.

His eighth goal of the competition, Argentine Superstar Lionel Messi tops the goal-scorers chart, further evidence of his sparkling start to life at Inter Miami.

The 2022 World Cup winner and his Inter teammates will now look forward to victory in the last-4 to push their ambition of title success.

Mexican club Leon are the current champions of the Leagues Cup which is an annual association football competition between clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS) and Liga MX in North America, hosted in the United States and Canada.

The first edition of the Leagues Cup took place in July 2019 with four selected teams from the Major League Soccer – MLS and Liga MX competing for honours.

The 2019 edition was a single-elimination tournament hosted in the US with a final played in Las Vegas on September 18, 2019.
