Buhari sacks DG NYSC Gen Fadah 6 months after taking over

Less than six months after assuming office as the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate removal of Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah, from office as the Scheme’s DG.
Although reasons have not been provided (as at press time) by the presidency for the sacking of Gen. Fadah, credible sources in the Villa told PRNigeria that the NYSC boss’ removal is not unconnected with the fact that Fadah has exhibited ‘glaring incompetence’ in the six months he has piloted the affairs of NYSC.
Meanwhile, PRNigeria gathered that the ousted NYSC Director General has been asked to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the organisation, who is to act as DG in the interim.
Brigadier General MK Fadah hails from Bade Local Government area of Yobe State of Nigeria He attended the Kaduna Polytechnic from where he obtained an HND before proceeding to bag a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the Lagos State University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Peace and Strategic Study of the University of Ilorin.
It is also being suggested that the removal of the officer from the strategic office could have something to do with the upcoming 2023 general elections as NYSC members play a key role in elections in the country.
This view is reinforced by the fact that very recently, the National Council for Civil Societies presented a Certificate of Credence to Brig. Gen. Fadah for his sterling leadership qualities.
The Council, at the event, also commended him for stakeholders’ advocacy visits, anti-corruption crusade and selfless services with good governance since he assumed duty.
The National Coordinator of the Council, Comrade Attahiru Abdulmalik, had while presenting the Certificate of Credence to General Fadah at the NYSC Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja,
extolled him for his track records of laudable achievements and urged him to remain focused in order to take the Scheme to enviable heights.
