There are strong indications that Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko may sack his commissioners and dissolve boards of government owned institutions anytime from now.
Global Patriot Newspapers gathered from usually reliable sources in Akure Tuesday, that the step is aimed at bringing into government some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which is the governor’s new party.
Governor Mimiko crossed over to the PDP from the Labour Party, LP, on which platform he was re-elected. He is presently the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and was the Co-ordinator of the President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign in the South West geo-political zone in the last general elections.
The present crops of political office holders in Ondo state, appointed immediately the Governor won his second term election have served more than two years with some of them in the saddle since 2012.
A source at the Governor’s office confirmed that a complete overhaul of the state administration that may affect members of the State Executive Council and members of boards of parastatals and agencies of government is imminent and may be announced anytime from now.
