The Consulate General of Nigeria in New York, United States of America (USA) has released a list of three hundred and eighty-eight (388) people whose passports have been produced between 2017 and 2022 but which passports are “either undeliverable or yet to be collected by the respective applicants.
“To enable the Consulate redirect the passports,” those affected “are advised to send fully pre-paid, self addressed envelops (US Post Office Express Mail) to the Consulate at the following address: Consulate General of Nigeria, 828 2nd Avenue, New York, NY10017.

Ambassador Egopija explained that the passports were either mailed to addresses supplied by the applicants and for one reason or another were returned to the Consulate or have not been collected at all by their owners.
He said that so long as the passports exist, the owners could not go anywhere else to have new passports made, stressing that the owners should send in the pre-paid envelopes with their correct addresses so that they could be mailed to them.
The Consul General pointed out that they are meeting the six weeks turn around target for production of passports, noting that they have produced all January passports and are currently producing February passports and encouraged all nationals to attend the TOWN HALL meeting today, Friday, February 17, 2023, to have any other issues they may have clarified.
