The New York Grand Command of the Knights of St John International (KSJI) carried out the exemplification exercise of her deserving brothers into the 2nd and 3rd degrees of the Order on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
The event took place at the Catholic Parish of the Transfiguration (St Ann’s Church), 103 16th Avenue, Newark, New Jersey. One of those initiated, who was also the officiating priest at the event, Rev Father Josephat Kato Kalema KSJI, urged the brothers to continue to distinguish themselves in the Church with exemplary behavior as Knights.
Present to carry out the initiation were among others, Brigadier General Richard Morse, the Grand President, New York Grand Command, Col. Dave B. Wilson Sr., Secretary, New York Grand Command, Capt Rudolph Weedor, 2nd Vice Commander, District 4, New York Grand and Chairman 2nd and 3rd Degree exemplification, Col Martin Ukeje, 1st Vice President, New York Grand, as well as other District 4 and New York Grand Officers, including Col. Jaeploe Alexander, Major Mombo Patrick, 1st Lt Oliver Nnadi, 2nd Lt Cyril Amadiegwu, 1st Lt Sebastian Ike, Major Christopher Nwanze and 2nd Lt Chinedum Uche.
The ceremony, which was carried out in a convivial setting, witnessed the exemplification of brothers from the four Commanderys of 615, 676, 680 and 960, all within the United States Supreme Subordinate of the Knights of St John International (KSJI).
