Nigeria defeat Cameroon to reach WAFCON Semi Final, 2023 FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Thursday night defeated archrivals, Cameroon 1-0, to reach the Semi Final of the 2022 Womens Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Rashedat Ajibade scored the only goal in the 57th minute of play to help Nigeria break a resilient Cameroon setup and seal a place in the last four plus 2023 FIFA Womens World Cup Qualification.

A record extending 12th WAFCON Semi Final it is for Nigeria who are eyeing a 10th title in Morocco. Aside Nigeria, Only Equatorial Guinea have won the Women’s on two occasions.

Nigeria will face hosts Morocco in the Semi Final on Monday, July 18, 2022. South Africa will take on Zambia in the other Semi Final game, also on Monday with kickoff fixed for 6pm.
