

Some Nigerians detained by Ghanaian authorities at the border town of Aflao have been freed from custody and repatriated to the country.
The ordeal of the Nigerians, numbering about 500, was brought to worldwide attention via a video that went viral on the internet.
A source told GPNews that the affected individuals were evacuated after the intervention of the Nigerian Mission in Ghana and the efforts of the traditional leader of the Igbo community in Ghana, HRM, Eze Dr. Amb. Jude Ihenetu, Ezendigbo Ghana.
Other leaders and sympathizers also contributed towards the evacuation of the stranded nationals who were said to have been deceived by unscrupulous job recruiters and abandoned in Ghana.
They were arrested and left in a camp at Aflao in allegedly unwholesome conditions by Ghanaian immigration officials till the intervention of the Nigerian Mission, Eze Jude Ihenetu and the other leaders of the Nigerian community in Ghana.
The evacuees are said to have been returned to their families with stern warnings to look before they leap in future.
