Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has congratulated former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his 79th birthday anniversary.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, titled “Special Birthday Wishes to an Elder Statesman,” Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, while wishing the Waziri Adamawa “the very best,” noted that “it takes a remarkable kind of fortitude to remain active in public life well into one’s golden years,” stressing that Atiku’s “dedication and patriotism remain truly exceptional.”
He wished the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and now a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), “continued success, prosperity, and an unending stream of accolades,” even as he hoped that his special day will “be filled with grandeur” befitting his “illustrious career.”
Obi also expressed the hope that the elder statesman will “enjoy a day of quiet reflection” on his many years of “fruitful service to humanity,” and prayed that God Almighty will grant him “many more healthy, fruitful, and fulfilling years ahead,” and continue to endow him “with wisdom, strength, and the grace to keep contributing to peace and nation-building.”
