Okonjo-Iweala makes TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2021

Nigeria-born Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has been named among the TIME Magazine’s most influential people in the world for 2021.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala 67, a former Managing Director (Operations) of the World Bank, two-time Minister of Finance of Nigeria and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, is the only Nigerian on the 2021 TIME100 and her picture is used lavishly on the cover of the very influential international magazine.

An economist and development expert of international repute who has many firsts under her belt, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala’s latest listing among the world’s most influential personalities has given her and the noble causes she is championing, especially COVID-19 vaccine equity, an added major boost.
