Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has responded to rumours making the rounds that he is in hiding from being investigated. Taking to his verified twitter page Tuesday, Obanikoro blasted @SaharaReporters for involving his family in a dirty campaign of calumny and pure blackmail.

Obanikoro was reacting to the allegation that he purchased a house in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, whereas, according to him, the house in question belongs to his second son, Gbolahan and his wife.
Gbolahan Obanikoro is into private business and is said to be doing well for himself while his wife also is well-to-do.

Obanikoro said further that he is not aware of any investigation of him in the public service, stressing that the rumour from SaharaReporters would form a part of the evidence to be tendered against the news outfit and their publisher Omoyele Sowore in a case he instituted at the Supreme Court of the State of New York on the 9th of March this year.
Sources close to Obanikoro also say that he is also likely to soon institute another case against SaharaReporters and Omoyele Sowore separately here in Nigeria for libel or defamation.

Obanikoro in his tweets explained that his ambition for now is to seek further education in addition to his first and second degrees obtained from Texas Southern University. He tweeted that he is currently a student of Oglethorpe University in USA and is proud of his record of service to Nigeria. This service includes a year as Local Government chairman of Lagos Island, Lagos State Commissioner under former Governor Bola Tinubu, Senator of the Federal Republic, Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana as well as a Minister of the Federal Republic.
