
The family of Onokwai of Umuidigbeocha Village, Obodogugu Quarters, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State has announced the death of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grand-father, brother, uncle and father in-law, Obi Onwazubudike Dadu Onokwai (a.k.a Ekpili Ojogolor), who passed on to glory aged 91.
A notice by Mr. Nnamdi Onokwai and Mrs. Nneka Umoh for the family said that Obi Onokwai died on December 18, 2022, after a brief illness and that there will be Wake Keeping on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 5pm at his Residence, Umuidigbeocha Village, Obodogugu Quarters, Okpanam, Oshimili North L.G.A of Delta State.
The Celebration of Life notice also said that on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 7:00am, the body of the late Monarch will leave the Asaba Specialist Hospital Mortuary to his Hometown, Umuidigbeocha Village, Obodogugu Quarters, Okpanam, Oshimili North L.G.A of Delta State.
Lying in State will commence at 10:00am at his compound while other burial rites will continue, same Saturday, from 11:00 am at the residence of the highly respected Patriarch.
Late Obi Onokwai is survived by Mrs. Unoma Onokwai (Wife), Mrs. Nneka Umoh (Daughter), Mrs. Nkem Ogbogu (Daughter), Miss Onyeneke Onokwai (Daughter), Mrs. Nkechi Ann Taiwo (Daughter) and Mr. Nnamdi Onokwai (Son).
Others are Mr. Jude Onokwai (Son), Miss Onyeka Onokwai (Daughter), Mr. Nkwuka Onokwai (Son), Mr. Izuka Onokwai (Son), Miss Awele Onokwai (Daughter), Miss Abigail Onokwai (Daughter), Miss Amaka Onokwai (Daughter) and Miss Praise Onokwai (Daughter).
Obi Onokwai, who has left his footprints, indelibly in the sands of time is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, uncles, sisters, in-laws and other relatives, friends and associates all over the world who are mourning him.
