The Olu-kiri of Kiri land in Kogi State, Olu James Abayomi Ikusemoro and members of his cabinet have paid a visit to the reconstruction site of the Pakuta bridge in Akutupa Kiri, where the Monarch expressed profound gratitude to Senator Steve Karimi, Professor Olu Obafemi and others who have made the reconstruction effort possible.

The very important bridge collapsed recently and the save our soul (SOS) outcry of the Olu-Kiri was escalated by Professor Obafemi, the Asiwaju of Kiri Kingdom to state and federal political office holders.

Senator Karimi, a widely acclaimed pro-people representative responded immediately with a pledge that the bridge will be expeditiously reconstructed to alleviate the suffering of the people who had been cut off as a result of the collapse of the bridge.

True to his word, when the Olu-Kiri and his cabinet members visited the site, they saw the reconstruction work already at an advanced stage and he paid glowing tribute to the Senator, who, he said, God has used to wipe away their tears. He prayed for long life and success in all spheres of life for him.

The Monarch also appreciated the efforts of other people, particularly the exceptional contributions of Prof  Obafemi, the Asiwaju of Kiri Kingdom, who he said, has been tirelessly dedicated to ensuring that Kiri Kingdom reaches higher heights of greatness.

Efforts are being invested in the Pakuta bridge project because of its strategic importance towards improving connectivity and boosting economic activities in the area. The Olu-Kiri’s visit to the reconstruction site underscored the importance of the project to the community and the highlighted the how collaboration between the the traditional leaders and government officials can engender rapid development.

Senator Karimi has been instrumental to facilitating infrastructure development in the region, with the ongoing Pakuta bridge reconstruction, which is expected to enhance transportation, promote trade, and improve the overall quality of life of residents of Akutupa Kiri and surrounding areas, being one of his notable contributions.

The Olu-Kiri’s prayers and expressions of profound gratitude reflect the community’s appreciation of the Senator, and Professor Obafemi for their dedication to the well-being of the people and the development of the area.
