Over 5000 members from the ruling Peoples Democratic party, PDP and New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP have defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC in Yabo local government area of Sokoto state.
The defectors were happily received during the Progressive Youth Mega rally and inauguration of 150 APC Support Groups organized by Yabo APC Youth.
Those who defected are Vice Chairman of NNPP in the area, Alh. Abdullahi Kabawa, Alhaji Abdullahi Dogo, Malami Gumba and PDP Women leader in the area Hajiya ‘Yar-Ango among others.
Announcing the decampees, APC chairman in the area Alhaji Bello Dan Maliki, explained that, their party is restrategizing to ensure victory during the forhcoming elections.
Welcoming the defectors, Sokoto State APC Chairman, Hon Isah Sadiq Achida assured them of equal treatment, adding that, the state party leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko is ever ready to accommodate anybody that joins their train.
Achida reminded the defectors of how Wamakko, during his tenure as governor of Sokoto State initiated diverse youths empowerment programmes that had ad still having positive impacts on the lives of the people of the state till date.
On his part, the APC leader in the area who is also the Director General of National Teacher’s Institute, NTI Prof. Musa Garba Mai tafsir, commended APC supporters in Yabo local government for their immense support towards the party all the times.
Prof Mai tafsir assured that more people from across the state will soon join the APC before the 2023 general elections.
Before inaugurating the 150 APC Youth Support Group in the area, Sokoto state APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, assured the locals that APC is the best option for Nigerians.
Taking a swipe at the ruling PDP in Sokoto, the APC Gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, called on the party to clearly point at the 78 projects it claimed to have executed in Yabo local government.
