Ozigbo commiserates with Innoson, Gabros as they lay their mother to rest; Pays last respect to late Lolo Helena Okoye 

Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, was in Nnewi on Friday, February 25, 2022, to mourn with the Chukwuma family over the loss of their mother, Mrs. Martina Nwanyinkwo Chukwuma.

Mrs. Chukwuma was the mother of Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, the CEO of Gabros Group of companies, and Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the MD/CEO of Innoson Group of companies. She was 101 years old at the time of her death.

The elaborate funeral ceremony, which took place at the Chukwuma family residence in Umudim, Nnewi, attracted a host of business and political leaders and other distinguished personalities.

In his condolence message to the bereaved, Ozigbo commiserated with his friends over the loss of their mother.

Ozigbo, who is the immediate past President of Transcorp Plc, thanked God for granting Mama Chukwuma a long life and the privilege of raising successful children who have contributed immensely to the economy and progress of Nnewi, Anambra State and Nigeria.

Ozigbo acknowledged that, while every loss is a source of sorrow, mama’s life on earth should be celebrated and her legacies upheld.

 In Agulu in Anaocha LGA the same Friday, February 25, 2022, Mr. Ozigbo commiserated with the Okoye family as their matriarch, Lolo Helena Anyankwor Okoye, was laid to rest.

The late Lolo Okoye, who died at the age of 87 years, was the mother of Dr Ifeanyi Okoye, the MD/CEO of Juhel Nigeria Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading pharmaceutical companies, and Dr Francis Okoye, a successful businessman and a major political stakeholder in Anaocha LGA.

In a condolence message to the family, Ozigbo expressed his grief over Mama’s death, describing her as a woman of substance and a home-builder who exuded love for God and humanity.

Ozigbo, the 2021 Anambra Man of the Year, urged the bereaved to be comforted, knowing that Mama lived a good life and is now resting in a better place.

Ozigbo further prayed for the Lord to grant Lolo Okoye’s family the fortitude to bear the loss and for a peaceful repose of her soul.

The funeral ceremony attracted a host of dignitaries, including His Excellency Peter Obi, the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Esimone, the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Chief Okey Ezeibe (Omelora), Chief Alex Ejesieme SAN and Hon Valentine Ayika, a former federal lawmaker.
