PDP, Atiku group calls for discrete investigation into attack on its facilities in Gombe

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State and the Northeast Business Communities for Atiku for President 2023, have called for discrete investigation into the attack on their offices.

Both offices were in the early hours of Tuesday, 01/02/2022 vandalized by yet to be identified persons with valuable properties destroyed and others carted away.

The office of the PDP Chairman was actually set on fire which consumed many valuables.

According to the Coordinator, Northeast Business Communities for Atiku for President 2023, Dr. Ali Bappayo Adamu, they received a distress call from the guards of their office that hoodlums had over powered them and completely vandalized the office around 02:00pm.

He said they lost a lot in the attack with some of their air conditioners being carted away.

He called on security agencies to make a discrete investigation into the attack to ascertain the culprits and bring them to book.

Also speaking on the attack on the PDP Secretariat, the State Chairman, Abnon Kwaskebe, described the attack on their office as the work of arsonists.

According to him, this is a violent approach to politics which must not be condoned. He called for investigation that will reveal the arsonists so that the law will take its course.

The Gombe State Police Commissioner, Ishola Babaitan, confirmed the attacks and added that he had already gone round all the affected facilities including ‘Zangon Gwamna’, an APC supporters’ canopy that was also vandalized.

He said he had scheduled a meeting with all stakeholders after which he will issue a formal statement.
