PDP Convention: We cannot live in denial – Adeniran

A top contender to the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the December 9, 2017 National Convention of the Party, Professor Tunde Adeniran, has said the party can no more live in denial of the many problems bedeviling it.
Speaking to Journalists after addressing delegates during his campaign tour in Gombe, Professor Adeniran said what the party needs most is concrete reform and repositioning to be able to take back power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, “The party needs repositioning. We have problems which have been identified. We cannot live in denial. We want to correct them effectively when we are in position to ensure that we do what is possible, and what is right and create internal democracy”.
Professor Adeniran said, “We will take the motto of our party very seriously because we believe that the party belongs to the people. All votes must count whatever election it is whether ward election, up to the national level”.
Speaking on reconciliatory moves to bring back those who left the party, Professor Adeniran said, “ Within, we’ll do all we can to bring together everybody, even those who had gone away, including many who are now anxious to join the PDP.
“I believe with unity, there is nothing that we cannot achieve. I don’t see us failing in our bid for unity and reconciliation because God knows that what we need in this country is meaningful change, change that will change the change”, he emphasized.
