PDP shifts NEC meeting to next week

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has postponed the meetings of the statutory organs of the party earlier scheduled for this week by one week to Monday, February 15, 2016 and Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

A statement by National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, said that the National Working Committee (NWC) approved the shift in date in view of requests by critical stakeholders and leaders of the party.

According to the new schedule, the meeting of the National Caucus of the party has been shifted to Monday, February 15th, 2016 at 7pm; the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) will hold on Tuesday, February 16th morning, while the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting holds at 2pm on the same Tuesday, February 16th, 2016.

The meetings are expected to select a new chairman for the troubled opposition party.
