Mrs. Katung has been officially sworn in as the 130th Lord Mayor of Leeds.
Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, prayed that God should grant Mrs. Katung, who is the wife of Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District in Nigeria’s National Assembly “the wisdom and strength to function effectively in her new position.”
He also prayed that Mrs. Katung, who is reported to be the first person of African descent to hold the position, should be able to “impact more positively on the society and remain a good ambassador of Nigeria, and continue to contribute to the development of our nation as we build a New Nigeria for all.”
