Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 met with the leadership of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere led by Oba Oladipo Olaitan, who is also the leader of ethnic nationality groups in Nigeria, comprising Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) and Middle Belt Forum.
Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, who confirmed this in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) platform, said that they “had a useful meeting” and discussed extensively “the current situation in our country, especially in the critical areas of education, health and pulling people out of poverty.”
Thanking them “sincerely” for “always standing out for fearless justice and the unity of our country,” Mr. Obi urged them not to relent, and pledged to “remain committed to an all-inclusive, united Nigeria where no part will be left behind.”
