Peter Obi mourns, hails FCMB Founder, Chief Olasubomi Balogun

Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023, election in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi, has hailed the late Chief Michael Olasubomi Balogun, Founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) as “a visionary leader and business titan whose visible footprints in the nation’s economy, will always be remembered.”

In a tweet conveying his condolences to the “Balogun family, the management and staff of FCMB, the good people of Ijebuland, and the government and people of Ogun State, over this irreplaceable loss,” Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State said that the late Bank boss “was a man who believed that people should be successful through hard work and enterprise.”

Mr. Obi, who stressed that he is saddened by the demise of the titan, noted, that “through his entrepreneurial success, he created jobs and contributed to societal growth and development.” He, also, prayed God to grant Chief Balogun eternal rest.
