A 92nd minute equalizer by the Pharaohs now threatens to spoil the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Gabon 2017 party for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as the highly publicized encounter ended 1:1 apiece.
Leading the match with a slim 1:0 scoreline courtesy of a second half Oghenekaro Etebo effort, the Super Eagles defence went to sleep with barely a minute to play after the referee had signalled for three minutes of added time at the crucial tie involving the table toppers, Egypt and the Super Eagles who before the match trailed by two points.
The crucial match played at jam-packed Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna was to decide who tops the group to pick the sole ticket to the AFCON in Gabon next year.
With the result, Egypt still lead but now with 7 points with the Super Eagles following with 5 points.
The reverse fixture comes up next week in Alexandria in Egypt.
