The Fidau prayer is a prayer session usually held by the Muslim faithful eight days after the demise of an adherent and Amodu, who was a practising Muslim, will be accorded same.
Amodu passed on last weekend to send the Nigerian football family into mourning barely 3 days after another Nigerian football icon Stephen Keshi passed away.
He came to national prominence when he led BCC Lions of Gboko to win the Challenge Cup (now called Federation Cup) in 1989 and led the team to win the CAF Cup winners Cup the following year.
Amodu coached the Super Eagles in four spells. He qualified Nigeria for the 2002 and 2014 FIFA World Cups as well as being an assistant numerous time.
He was also at the helm of the Sand Eagles when they qualified for the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Amodu has since been buried in his hometown of Okpella in Edo State and the Fidau prayer will be held at his Lagos residence at 41b, Adegoke Street, off Alhaji Masha Street, Surulere, Lagos.
