RCCG’s 50 days New Year fasting and prayers programme begins today, January 11, 2023

The annual New Year fasting and prayer programme of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has started today, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 across the world.

The programme, declared by the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, will last 50 days from today, January 11 till March 1, 2023, and will flow into the Special Holy Ghost Service of this year, 2023.

Pastor Adeboye will turn 81 on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Announcing the programme during the Church’s first Holy Ghost Service for the year on Friday, January 6, 2023, Pastor Adeboye explained that those who want to fast and pray straight without breaking (dry fasting) will do 21 days. He said that those who are between 70 and 80 years who decide to be part of the 50 days programme are to break their fast at 3pm daily while those who are 80 years and above who elect to participate should break at 12 noon daily.

Anyone who misses one day should add two days at the end of the 50 days programme that is being observed globally by members of the Church.

Corporate prayers are being said to break each day’s fast.
