RCCG’s Pastor Adeboye turns 81; Special Holy Ghost Service 2023 begins, theme ‘The God of Breakthroughs’
The Special Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), with the theme, “The God of Breakthroughs” starts today, Thursday, March 2, 2023, and will end on Sunday, March 5, 2023.with Holy Communion Service.
Today, also marks the 81st birthday of the General Overseer (G.O) of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who was born on 2 March 1942 in Ifewara, near Ife, in today’s Osun State.
Leading up to the Special Holy Ghost Service has been a worldwide 50-day prayers and fasting programme that ended yesterday, March 1, 2023.
To commemorate the birthday of Pastor Adeboye, there has also been the Marathon Messiah Praise (MMP) programme that features gospel music presentations by artists from all over the world.
The non-stop music presentations have gone on for 81 hours this year and had Pastor Adeboye and his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye come into the venue in the early hours of today (March 2) to cut his birthday cake and pray for the youths and young adults that are largely powering the programme.
There has also been the Solemn Assembly, a Conference of Ministers of the Church that features teachings, Bible Study and intensive prayers that has the General Overseer presiding.
This year’s Special Holy Ghost Service is expected to be extra special, and congregants are already filling up the expansive Redemption City for the programme that will feature intensive prayers, praise and worship sessions, word ministrations, testimonies of the faithfulness of God, Holy Communion Service and the Holy Ghost Service on Friday night.
Those who are too far from the Redemption City and cannot participate in person also have the option of participation via the Church’s YouTube channel, radio and television station (Dove Media) or other social media platforms.
