The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Walter Akubuiroh, has charged Nigerian youths to abstain from all forms of violence and engage in acts that will develop their talents.
He made this call in Benin City during the maiden meeting with the Edo State leadership and members of the Nigerian Youth Organisation (NYO) led by Comrade Innocent Frederick.
He noted that despite the current challenges confronting the nation, “all hope is not lost for the Nigerian youths who are ready to discipline themselves and explore in legitimate areas”
The Commandant added that Nigerian youths ‘must not lose hope of the future pointing out that “Every efforts must be made to avoid cutting corners to get rich quickly.’
He said: “I want to sincerely appeal to you all here to also take this message to other youths to shun acts capable of destroying your future. There is hope for the youths of this country who are ready to work within the ambits of the law.
‘You must shun acts of vandalism, violence and acts that can bring shame to you, your family and the society at large.”
Comrade Frederick said he was in the commandant’s office to introduce the organization and furnish the command with activities of the youth organisation in Edo.
