The Obafemi Awolowo Hall of the University of Ibadan, UI, has been attacked by armed robbers.
Armed men, numbering about 10, had raided the female hall of residence in the early hours of Friday, carting away phones, laptops and other valuables.
A report says the hall porters had carried out an inspection around 11 pm on Friday before the incident. Unsuspecting students had reportedly opened their doors when they heard knocks early Friday morning thinking the porters had returned for another round of checks.
The break-in lasted several hours with the robbers making away with phones, laptops, etc.
About five students are said to have sustained injuries, and are currently receiving treatment at the University’s clinic at Jaja.
