First year Anniversary: Family of Late activist, top banker, Dr Obadiah Mailafa announces schedule of events
– Extend invitation to family, friends, colleagues, general public
The family of renowned activist and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), late Dr Obadiah Mailafia, has announced a programme to mark the first-year memorial of their beloved father which will include the launch of a Foundation in his honour as well as the commencement of the Foundation’s Inaugural Lecture Series.
Late Dr Obadiah Mailafia passed away on September 19, 2021 at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital aged 64.

The programme, released by the family, includes a Zoom session that will take place on September 16, 2022 from 7-10pm.
On Saturday, September 17, 2022, there will be the “Dr Obadiah Mailafia Foundation Inaugural Lecture Series,” holding at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Center, Abuja from 10am to 5pm.
A Memorial Church Service, holding at the National Christian Center (N.C.C) Abuja on Monday, September 19, 2022, will crown events marking the demise of the nationalist.
Late Dr Obadiah Malifiah was until his demise a true patriot whose passion for a better Nigeria prompted his 2019 Presidential ambition on the platform of the Action Democratic Congress – ADC.
He is fondly remembered for his vocal contributions towards issues of national importance as a frontline columnist with The Vanguard Newspaper and contributor to other media platforms.
